Shingwedzi for me. Wide variety of game to view, great for bird-spotting and it's not hard to get away from other people (at least it wasn't last time we were there). The accommodation is well arranged and there's a good restaurant.

Mantenga Cultural Village & reserve, Ezulwini Valley, Swaziland.

No big game, BUT.....

Wonderful people, friendly and very helpful.

Comfortable chalets with a wonderful balcony/deck to relax.

Excellent birding around camp and on the reserve.

Quiet (apart from when the traditional dancing is being performed, usually 11:00am and 3:00pm and well worth seeing and joining in with).

Beautiful waterfalls.

Mountainous scenery.

I've never relaxed so much in any other camp I've visited in Southern Africa.

This place was a revelation to me and a real joy to visit.

Go there for a long weekend. You will not regret it and maybe even add it here as one of your favourites also. \O

P.S.

I've just been to Shingwedzi, the place has gone downhill bigtime otherwise that may have got my vote. O/

Ok, I believe Tsendze is the best camp... for me in anyway...
Especially in July as it was the only camp where you can actually find peace and quiet and we went way up North this holiday.
Roger and Elenah are the best hosts in the whole Park. The camp is always clean and their nightly visits is the cherry on the cake. They talk show you where the owls are and talk about the best roads to see what etc.
And then not forget the great roads around the camp. Just magical! Mooiplaas is just a great spot for a sundowner.

Enough said?

Balule!

Quiet, well maintained, plenty of shade for camping and you can even stay in the (windowless) huts if you don't want to camp. It's also in a good game spotting area.

Shingwedzi, its rustic, beautiful and peaceful - and not so many people (well, last time I was there anyway, which was a long time ago). And I love the surrounding area's - fabulous game drives, good birding opportunities.
